Spooky season is quickly approaching which means it’s time for a night filled with Halloween movies! Here’s how to throw the ultimate Halloween movie night and enjoy an evening of spooks, treats and fun for all ages.
Pick the Flick
The type of movie you watch might depend on the age of the audience. For young kids, try something fun and lighthearted like a Halloween cartoon. For kids who are a little older, throw on a classic like Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus or Beetlejuice. For teens who aren’t afraid to get a little spooked, put on a classic like Carrie or Scream. For adults who really want to get spooked, try hosting a competition where everyone brings the scariest movie they have ever seen and run a marathon. Winner gets a fun Halloween themed prize!
Plan the Snacks
Snacks are a must for any movie night, especially around Halloween. Load up on chocolate candies, gummies, and sweet and sour treats to pair with homemade popcorn. Other great snacks include pretzels, chips and dip, a veggie tray, cookies, assorted fruits.
Whip up Some Drinks
For kiddos, grab plenty of soda and juice. You can also whip up a fun Halloween punch complete with floating plastic eyeballs, frozen hands or other spooky add-ins. For the adults, whip up a fun fall or halloween themed cocktail like Spooky Witch’s Brew.
Get Comfortable
Depending on how many people you’re hosting for your Halloween movie night, you might need some extra seating. Add blankets and pillows to the floor to make a big seating area, and pull in extra chairs if needed. Make sure everyone has a blanket in case they need to cover their eyes!
Let the Movie Begin
It’s time to kick off your Halloween movie night. Dim the lights, put those phones away and let yourself get spooked. If you really want to up the ante, try decking the place out in Halloween decor or flickering the lights when nobody is watching. Happy Halloween!
